The Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) low interest loan program was established via the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) Amendments of 1996. The DWSRF is a program to assist public water systems in financing the costs of replacement and repair of drinking water infrastructure to protect public health and achieve or maintain compliance with the SDWA requirements. Michigan’s DWSRF program has awarded over $1.5 billion dollars to 370 drinking water projects across the state since 1998.
